While the cost of living is another argument this is pretty standard. 18-> 18.50 works out to be a 2.7% raise which is just below the avg of 3%. 19.00 -> 20.00 is a 5.25% raise much greater than the standard. While a raise of only a few cents/dollars may feel insulting, it adds up. If your not job hopping ever 2-5 years 3% is the average to expect
It can be standard all they’d like but that’s half a decade of your life for $2 lmaooo 5% raise on $18 an hour gets you like… lunch. Wildly different realities if you’re a higher earner like 80k+ 🥀So yeah 10k hours for $2 isn’t good it’s just underpaid loyalty, period. Who wouldn’t job hop to more competitive options
This is true, however judging by the layout of the job posting, it doesn’t look like it’s a job one would expect to be in for 5+ years. Let alone build a career at. Typically corporate companies do not post expected raises. Most don’t even post starting wages/salaries as it varies based on the individual.
