Nah I get it, I actually really like a good standard poodle but I’m not a big fan of most doodles. No strong feelings about mini/toy poodles

I don’t think you’re an asshole for not liking any type of animal, it’s normally just a preference

I had a very problematic fearful aggressive doodle in the family when I grew up, so much expensive training that led nowhere. My sister has now developed a strong fear of dogs and my parents are never going to own another dog in their lifetime. I’ve met one good doodle from a family friend, she’s very dumb & very lovable. But I think if someone wants a doodle they should get a regular poodle, it’s a very smart active dog you don’t gotta mix it with anything.

Literally hate poodles lowk, my neighbor ruined them for me, he had 2 when I was little and we’d first moved Nextdoor, then he got another one, then his mom died and she had one too so he had 4, now I think he’s back down to 3 by now(this is over 17 years lol), and all they do is harass my dog through the wire fence, my neighbor doesn’t train them properly, they piss and shit inside his house and they bark nonstop. Poodles are ruined for me sorry🤷‍♀️😭

Idk I feel like the whole fur situation is a bit weird so they’re definitely low on my list of dogs

doodles are such an unethical breed, the ones I’ve met are sweet but they have a lot of complications I’ve heard

yeah I hate the unethical aspect of people breeding doodles for popularity/looks

def think poodles are, if anything, at least more consistent in temperament than doodles

Yep, many are very nice dogs but so many of them just aren’t quite right as far as temperament and such due to bad breeding. Plus they’re notoriously allergy prone and cancer is fairly common since many of the dogs poodles are bred to are also very cancer prone (goldens, and Bernese Mountain Dogs in particular)

Yep, it’s frustrating too because so many of the traits people want are the poodle traits! I work at a vet office and we’ve had maybe two mentally stable doodles come in, the rest are a trainwreck with pretty markings unfortunately
