It is the year 2025 can people please stop blaming women for struggling to get pregnant? Do they know it can also be the guy who is having the fertility issues?

this. if a man has a low active sperm count it makes it incredibly difficult to get pregnant.

I recently saw a Facebook post of how this couple is struggling to get pregnant and in the comments it was all things that SHE could do and that it was her issues. Like please stop

Yeah idk why people act as though guys have no fault in it. Do they also know that they can also contribute to if it is a health pregnancy and baby? Studies have come out saying that if the guy isn’t healthy he can cause extreme morning sickness

I know a lady who has a son with special needs and she said she felt so guilty as he was growing up cause she thought it was something she did during the pregnancy to cause it and her husband never reassured her and let her beat herself up. They come to find out like 3 years ago that it was something in his genetics and it runs in his family

YUP. the men never get genetically tested. i got ADHD from my dad because he carries the gene for it. they found out after i was born that my dad has genetic components for both ADHD and autism. i’m not autistic and i’m glad i’m not for many reasons personally but people need to start getting tested for things if they want kids.

Exactly! Like before I get married I’m having the guy get tested and I’ve been tested for some things, but I want a deeper analysis and then to see if either of us could potentially pass on complications to our potential future children

It’s crazy how women are told to do all this prep and take all these medications but the guys don’t do anything. Sperm live for roughly 68 days and this guy on tik tok said 6 months before he and his wife plan on trying to get pregnant he is going to be the healthiest he can be. Like stop drinking, taking vitamins, working out more, eating healthy, etc and the comment section was crazy

yeah… and usually other men look at men like they’re crazy for doing so?! more men need to watch the documentary about the six schizophrenic brothers. only the mom had the genetic component for schizophrenia and they had 12 children so half of them were affected. mind you, this testing wasn’t until AFTER the children were born. the tested the dad and he didn’t have the genetic component but still. if i ever want kids (pretty dead set on having none rn) i am getting genetically tested.

Yeah I have to be careful who I talk to about this stuff due to people being like “that is eugenics”. Like uh sorry I want to give my potential future children a better chance of being healthy. I think people definitely need to be taught more about how to prep for having kids before getting pregnant

i mean yes you have to be careful because eugenics is highly unethical. if you only want ND kids that’s nearing the edge of eugenics and imo if you can’t handle ND kids you shouldn’t be having kids and that’s my hot take.

That’s true. I mainly say it cause a friend of mine her mom knew that any kids she had they would have a high chance of having cancer and she still got pregnant anyway and now my friend has cancer and says she doesn’t want kids cause she doesn’t want anyone to have to live this type of life

Like her mom had a 50% chance and she said her doctors said due to her having cancer her odds spiked so her future children will definitely be at high risk and she views it as rude to be like “I want a baby even if that means they will most likely end up with cancer”

yeah that’s different than not wanting kids with neurodivergence IMO. I might have a cancer gene, which is why I don’t want kids. My mom just got genetically tested and she has the jeans so I have a 50% chance of having it as well.
