As someone with bipolar 2, we need better bipolar representation in media. I hate how when people find out I am bipolar they think I am gonna be like Ian Gallagher or that I am gonna cheat on them if I am dating someone.

I think there should be more clear distinction between 1 and 2 in the media bc they’re so different and we ABSOLUTELY need more bp 2 rep bc they’re basically none. That being said I’m also tired of ppl with 2 thinking if they had full blown mania and psychosis and went crazy that they wouldn’t act crazy. I’m not saying that’s you but I’ve seen it a lot. Ppl dragging celebs for shaving their head n shit I can’t even imagine how much it sucks to be in psychosis and actually be famous

Idk how other people can think that way? Like my most recent hypomanic episode I cut up the majority of my clothes bc I thought I was a fashion god and bought over $800 of materials. Like I feel like if I were a celebrity having an episode I 100% would have shaved my head.

On the flip side of the negatives u experience I have ppl that knew me during my first manic psychosis when I was clinically insane for 7 months that sound the alarms for everything. I can’t be skinny, laugh, smile, say I saw anyone anything. And then ppl who didn’t are like don’t say that u could never be crazy. Oh baby I am rn I’m just aware of it. We can never win girl

I lowk think people think that it is one of the “quirky” mental illnesses to have bc anxiety and depression are “too mainstream” and they self diagnose themselves. Like they wanna experience mania so bad.

i have shaved my head during a manic episode (halloween 2020 lmao) and being in the public eye wouldve made it soooo much worse omg and to have the money and resources they do i’d be so fucked
