I think they pretty much work the same. I’ve only used a heating pad in a nurses office, so the only difference is a hot water bottle uses boiled water and a heating pad has to be plugged in. I like the water bottle because I can walk around with it and go to bed with it without fear of plugs and wires. Either one is good in my opinion, it’s the heat that matters.
