I’ve seen people say “breasts are a secondary sex characteristic not genitalia, it’s just nipples etc” and that is completely true but, only biologically unfortunately. In our current society breast are still mainly viewed as inherently sexual. Realistically, a woman’s body is no more sexual than a man’s when her shirt is off. But if a woman flashed a kid on a playground that would still be a sexual offense, and there were definitely at least some minors at that concert unless the venue was 18+.

flashing people is not at all necessary and imo doechii goes too far. considering she’s a black woman she should be more careful with her image. black women are already hyper sexualized to begin. no need to add to it to

I def see exactly what you guys are saying, but in the spirit of discussing… what do we think about people on red carpets for example wearing see-through tops where everyone can very clearly see everything? there’s not really a consent form people sign before they watch a red carpet or anything like that

So idk, my thoughts on the incident are that yes we need to free the nipple and work to desexualize breasts, but that likely isn’t happening in our life time so we live in a world where exposing your breasts is not a neutral act and can in fact even be traumatizing to some people. #theend

The line definitely gets blurrier here because the context changes a lot. I don’t think it’s inherently inappropriate especially cause it’s usually only adults on red carpets but, if a woman wearing a top like that walked up to a random child we’d all agree that that’s wrong. Like the doechii example, it’s not an inherently sexual or indecent act but when exposed to someone who perceives it that way, it does become indecent. If that makes sense? Idk there is a lot of nuance to these things

but that’s what i’m getting at is where the line is for when it’s okay to expose yourself without explicit consent from the audience, is it the possibility of minors being present that’s the issue? etc. just something to think about

especially when red carpets are televised and photographed for viewing on the internet where it can appear for anyone, usually uncensored of all agea

I agree with you but I was thinking is there a way to desexualize breasts without showing them?
