hey diva when did you start BC and what kind? also, did you start it to treat other symptoms and not just to prevent pregnancies?

hey! i took my first pill last night, both for contraception and bc my cycles are super irregular. it’s drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol

If not already doing so, please avoid grapefruit juice, tobacco (drs aren’t cops so if under 21 be honest and tell them so they can give appropriate dose and type of BC), and caffeine. If spotting or this time is by your normal period, it’s very normal to have diarrhea. If you have diarrhea and/or vomiting for over 48hrs at any point, be wary because the pill might not have been able to fully absorb. Make note of any of those long periods of diarrhea for your doc!

Oo last bit of info: during your period, your body releases prostaglandins (which are lipid compounds that act like hormones) and those prostaglandins make your uterus cramp. Those same prostaglandins tend to also make your bowels cramp. The BC should start to take care of that eventually though!
