no we just keep having petty little arguments about nonsense and we’re depressed for our own reasons but can’t communicate well, we try our best to but it doesn’t happen well at all without one of us feeling invalidated

then maybe he could try reading a book on how to better communicate as partners? but if he refuses outside help while understanding that you two are struggling to work through it on your own it doesn’t seem like he’s as committed to having a healthier relationship as you are

so he suggested we make a list of the things we think eachother could work on/be more aware of and i’m really nervous even though it might be effective like i don’t want it to turn into a “change this about yourself” type of thing

yeah i think that would be better phrased as this is how xyz makes *me feel* and take ownership of the feelings you guys have instead of immediately blaming each other. but lmk how it goes!
