I don’t view marriage as an accomplishment it’s just one of those cool side things I may or may not do. Like I might buy a boat one day, very cool but I wouldn’t consider it a life achievement compared to a degree or business. we’ll see about the boat.

marriage is for sure optional and not for everyone, but it's still USUALLY a huge accomplishment. lots of times, a couple had to work really hard to get to that place, and it's worth lots of celebration!

i feel the same way about kids too. marriage and kids is the LEAST interesting thing about a person and it kills me when they make those things their entire personality. like please stand up and get a hobby or something

Encouraging women to view marriage as their life accomplishment traces back waaaay farther than Disney. Today, there is a lot of variability in how women view marriage, based on cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

I’m aware, I don’t need a history lesson. People, right now today, very much still panic when they’re approaching 30 and unmarried, so yeah, that causes it to be a high priority accomplishment for most people and moreso women.
