Yeah. Also my aunts. I told them about two jobs I applied for and they were like “two?! You can work two 9-5 at the same time?” and I’m like “in this job market I probably won’t hear back from either of them”. And then I brought up one of the jobs like a day later and they were like “omg you got it!” Like no, I’m just saying I noticed that they are reviewing my application

my dad was like “well when we had you your mom was working a $15 an hour job like it’s fine you don’t have to be making a lot” so that would be like $27 now. and they are also rejecting me from the $15 an hour jobs

My parents berate me for not taking initiative in applying but I apply to several jobs a day and only ever get rejection emails. My dad just thinks I can walk into any place and ask for an application and they’ll hire me like it’s not the 80s anymore that’s not how shit works

when i applied to upwards of 100+ jobs and only got 2 offers i was being “lazy” and not applying to enough jobs, like no this market is just so hostile and it’s hard to keep up as a recent graduate

I had to do simple math for my dad cause he said a $40,000 salary was more than enough and that he was able to comfortably afford living on it when he graduated from college. I showed him what his 40k was equivalent to today and he was shocked

I just can’t do it anymore. I want to make the bare minimum. I want to live in a one room shoebox apartment in a shit area. I will eat ramen for breakfast lunch and dinner. I actually would be so down. But I can’t even do that. I just want a job and some sort of independence

Yeah they really don’t understand how people are living paycheck to paycheck and are choosing not to have kids cause they can’t afford to have them

When I was looking for a job my parents were horrible about it. I was spending hours everyday just applying to jobs, literally anything that I saw that I could feasibly do. And my parent called me lazy and told me I wasn’t trying hard enough when I would take a break. Like I couldn’t sit at the computer applying for jobs 24/7 but I guess that’s what they wanted?
