if you think women only do things like wear makeup and shave “for men” or “because of the patriarchy” then you can’t call yourself a feminist 🤷♀️ idgaf
I think I do the most to get ready to go into all girls spaces. Because I know my girls will appreciate it and acknowledge it

makeup i do for myself but shaving for me is a societal expectation thing. i would never shave my legs if i knew i wouldn’t get weird looks if i went out in shorts

I do it because it makes me feel like I “look” like myself. and then miss “feminist 2.0” comes over telling me that none of my decisions were made for myself and that I only think of men. I don’t even get near men I literally actively avoid them 🙃

Yeah, I don’t particularly think of men when I’m shopping haha. Pretty sure they’re not a consideration. But I do look at prints and fabric quality lol

I grew up in midtown Manhattan and with a mom who shopped on Canal St. life has never been about men. It’s about buying whatever I want lol

Mind you, I grew up plenty wealthy enough we could’ve lived and shopped anywhere. But that’s where my mom grew up. And she’d rather have 50 purses than 15 for the same price. A true icon

Men are just those things I pass on the street and glare at

okay. and that’s for YOU. but you can’t say other women shave for the same reason

ofc, i didn’t and wouldn’t say that. just contributing my personal reason to the convo lol and that i wish there wasn’t a stigma around body hair on women
