someone please tell me I’m paranoid. I had sex for the first time with condom, and I’m on birth control (but not timely) and then took a plan b after…

i understand you but if you’re gonna be this paranoid maybe don’t partake just for your own sake 😅 i’m sure you’re 100% fine tho

If you used the condom the whole time and it don’t break, you were protected and the Plan B was unnecessary, but won’t hurt. It may have side effects that freak you out though, including cramping and irregular bleeding. Are you interested in a lower maintenance birth control method so you can trust it better?

plan b will mess when your cycle starts. you had sex with a condom and bc, you’ll be fine. i recommend not letting him bust a nutty in you if YOURE NOT WANTING TO GET PREGNANT. safe sex ladies, wrap the willy before you get silly.

hey OP poster #1 is really fear mongering and i recommend not taking any of the advice they’re giving birth control is between you and your doctor and if it works for you then yay! if you do take it timely you will likely be completely okay ESPECIALLY if you’re also using a condom! if you don’t use condoms, make sure your s/o pulls out bc even though the bc is meant to stop pregnancy, letting them finish inside makes it way higher risk. i’ve been on bc timely for 5 years having unprotected

This is an extremely dangerous generalization to make. Every medication requires a risk to benefit analysis between an individual and their doctor. Birth control can be very good, even life saving, for some bodies.

it’s really not. if you look at the recent studies between POTS, and other heart issues you will see that there is a strong link between BC and these conditions. it’s the fact that people are OKAY taking stuff that is bioengineered, then wonder why they have all these conditions, that’s why you don’t take drugs from medical corporations. it’s all a money grab, eventually you will have something you have to be seen for, that’s how they make money.

Again, individual risk:benefit analysis between a person and their doctor. Pregnancy holds far more risks than birth control and makes far more money for corporations.

again incorrect, it doesn’t. i think you need to do some medical research love.

Lol you’re funny. You really don’t need a platform to spread this harmful rhetoric on so I’ll be blocking you now. Please find the time to discuss your concerns with a qualified medical professional who is paid enough to chat and debunk your conspiracy theories. Bye.

my iud is more than 99% effective😮‍💨 even tho it’s incredibly unlikely to conceive i have mifepristone and misoprostol in my cabinet. it’s totally reasonable to get on birth control and want to be nut in. birth control is designed and tested to prevent pregnancy even if your partner ejaculates inside you * every time *

it also increases your risk of having an ectopic pregnancy if you get pregnant, so you letting him nut in your even tho you have an IUD is on you lol. btw ectopics can kill you very easily if not found in a reasonable amount of time. you’re literally setting yourself up for pregnancy if you willingly let him nut in you even on bc. pls don’t reproduce with your mindset.

per year, there is less than a 1% chance of me getting pregnant with an IUD, and if I did get pregnant, there’s about a 95% chance it wouldn’t be ectopic. i also take monthly pregnancy tests just to be safe so any pregnancy would be caught very early. for me, that very small risk is worth it to have an enjoyable sex life. i’m sorry if birth control caused problems for you but it’s okay for you to personally be against it without demonizing birth control

Okay so it sounds like you’re currently on a daily pill, which is hard to keep up with. You could try a patch, which is like a sticker that’s changed weekly; a ring, which is like a silicone hairtie that you insert like a tampon and change monthly. And then there are LARCs, which are administered by a healthcare provider. IUDs last 3-10 years, Nexplanon is 5. There’s also the shot, but I wouldn’t jump for that first. Do any of those sound better?

To an extent… combo pills, which is what most people use, can be taken +/-12 hours and still be effective. Most mini pills are +/-3 hours. OP which pill are you using?

I googled and it says mini, 0.35 of norethindrone per tablet

There’s still no need to worry because the condom was your first layer of protection and it didn’t fail, but that pill is one that’s important to take in that +/-3 hour window or effectiveness is compromised. With love, you would def be a good candidate for a lower maintenance method! Lord knows I wouldn’t be able to keep up with a pill either.

reminder than condoms are not 100% effective prevention so you can’t say for sure it did not fail. i’m not fear mongering, just trying to add since some people may not know that just bc a condom didn’t break or slip doesn’t mean it’s impossible to conceive :)

Absolutely, but there is no evidence of a failure and the failure rate without a visible break is very low. I always encourage taking a test 21 days after sex for a definitive result. It’s important to balance the reality that nothing is 100% effective with the concurrent reality of the circumstances.
