i will never teach my kids to respect their elders just because a person is older. i will teach them respect is mutual and if an elder doesn’t respect you then you don’t have to respect them

ill teach them to respect everyone initially but as soon as someone disrespects you then you are no longer obligated to respect them back. kids deserve respect too, and i feel too many in the older generations don’t believe that.

I agree I just hesitate to teach disrespect? Like don’t accept disrespect but everyone has inherent worth as a human being. So you don’t have to be overly nice but also not be disrespectful.
