no i turned in almost everything late including the final project i think he was just very forgiving because i went to every class and tried my best

so you deserved it! professors are the one who decide on deadlines which means they can decide to change them. if anything this means your work was so good your prof chose to overlook the fact that it was late. the same thing happens to me a lot too
