it pisses me off when ppl say the appalachian mountains are stupid for being small cuz they obviously don’t know they were once as tall as the himalayas. they’re the OLDEST MOUNTAIN RANGE ON THE PLANET THWYVE BEEN WEATHERED DOWN THEYRE STILL MOUNTAINS

I think people don’t realize that the Appalachian mountains helped keep our country together (literally because without them anything west of the Mississippi would be a different continent)

I grew up in Arizona. While I miss my younger, jagged mountains that have always enclosed my town’s horizon… since moving to NY, I have grown so much appreciation for the Appalachians!! There is *SO* much history in them and they are *GORGEOUS*!!!! They carry history, mystery, transformation, and persistence.
