As someone who was told by my Mom is was “my choice” to stay in the church if I wanted. After I had literally been forced to do 14 years of Catholic school…. I 100% agree.

Mind you. This was from a discussion about confirmation in highschool. Because I clearly didn’t want to go. But in the end my mom guilt tripped me with her wording anyways because she implied I need to make time for god And she was clearly going to be disappointed and very upset if I didn’t get confirmed soooo. Yeah totally not forced 🫠 it was. It so was.
