what is the logic behind a barista or someone asking for my name, how to spell it and how to say it just for them to give me my drink and it’s not right. it doesn’t bother me i’m just curious

I feel like asking for the name itself is a given.. but I would probably ask for spelling just bc I know how it feels to have my name spelt incorrectly on my cup lol. I don’t even have an uncommon name there’s just a few spellings of it. As for pronunciation they’re either being nice or probably making sure they heard it right
