Congrats girl! Just remember to stay safe bc your ovaries aren’t connected to your tubes naturally and if it can find a way in your uterus and you have unprotected sex an egg can still get fertilized.

Will you still get periods? I havent looked into this option much

Anonymous#71d
i had only my tubes removed. they put an iud in me while i was under to regulate hormones and hopefully stop bleeding. typically yes bc your ovaries and uterus are still there

I was so confused for a second until I remembered there are other forms of sterilization lmao. The one I want is a total hysterectomy, taking everything out except the ovaries

That’s what getting tested regularly is for. If someone lies about their sexual health to you and has sex and you contract a disease, you can sue them and it is classified as sexual assault
14
Anonymous#91d
yea that’s a very long path no one wants to take lmao

Anonymous#91d
herpes don’t show up on tests unless you test an active sore, it’s a 50/50 gamble
6
Anonymous#121d
That’s what blood tests do, getting tested for STDs is different for stis bc stis show in urine but blood work is more accurate

Make sure you have your doctor go through all of the risks/side effects of that procedure cuz it’s very complicated and lots of (mostly male) doctors don’t want to bother themselves going through everything
5
Anonymous#1417h
I know all the risks and side effects. I don’t need the doctor to repeat it

so my surgeon put the iud in me while i was under to regulate my hormones and have an extra measure. she said it would be extremely rare for me to get pregnant now even without the iud. it would be like a lifetime movie but yea that wasn’t going to be the only prevention i took

My sister got one and it was the worst 24 hours ever she said but after that she’s been so happy not having a period
