“Teachers are so lucky they get summer break” is such a lame thing to say for so many reasons but like girl if you think they’re at such an advantage why don’t YOU become a teacher too!

My parents want me to be a teacher and they always use the summer break thing as a positive. Like no they typically get another job bc they can’t afford their main one

Most teachers get paid over the summer and also take in more jobs

The money they get paid over the summer is taken from their paychecks earlier in the year. They still only get paid for their school year hours, it’s just stretched through the summer

Yes it’s always so sad to me to know that the people who are responsible for educating our children (very important job!!!!) can hardly pay their bills on their teacher salary

Correct, my dad’s a teacher and that’s how his district works. It makes managing finances a bit easier imo

(imo) most important job. we wouldn’t have doctors lawyers or literally any other career without them
