“Yall would react differently if the situation was different” yes that’s correct. Reactions typically correlate to what’s being reacted to.

Being confident in the way you look and your body is different than being proud that you are white

so only certain races can be proud of themselves? which ones are free of blame? is it a specific group of white people who aren’t allowed to be proud of their heritage, or just all the ones who look white enough? can you be proud of being from ireland, or is that too white? what about wales? or maybe iceland? which specific groups are allowed to feel good about themselves and their parents or ancestors?

can I ask who is being gunned down for being pretty? no one cares if she’s confident in her opinion, you’re not a victim

She has always found herself gorgeous and pretty much everyone agreed until recently. She can say “I have long shiny blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes and big perky tits and perfect skin and” whatever else all day long. Specifically tying it to genes **AND** how genes are passed down to offspring is where it becomes eugenics

((To be clear, by perfect skin I mean that she doesn’t have wrinkles or acne or obvious scarring. It would 100% be an issue if she implied that her skin is perfect because it’s white))

how am I any of those things? I asked which white people can be proud and which ones can’t, or if none of them can be. can you answer that or not? I am not trying to be funny, I actually want to know what you think

so if someone of a different race said that, would it still be eugenics, since it’s still the assumption that their genes are better than others?

The campaign is literally saying she has good jeans/genes, which directly implies that there are people who have bad ones. It says that directly after pointing out her blue eyes, which is one of the most well known Nazisms. Having blue eyes is the only trait of hers that was directly addressed.

If they’d just shown her walking around and being hot then it would’ve been fine. If they would’ve referred to her tits, which would’ve made more sense anyway since it’s what she’s known for, then it would’ve been fine (in terms of eugenics, still unfortunate catering to the male gaze). The issue is that they centered in on her blue eyes.

So, no, if someone of a different race said it then it would not be inherently eugenics because it wouldnt fit the historical context.

Hence the whole “if the situation was different then we’d react differently” thing

eugenics was used in the context of Naziism and white supremacy but by definition, it applies to selective breeding of traits considered “desirable” - so in the context of white supremacy, that means whiter traits, but that’s just one way it has been used. so yes, it would still be eugenics if the way it is phrased includes the person’s specific genes regardless of race (ex. brown eyes)

i will answer your question about which white people can be proud. you are allowed to be proud of your heritage and ancestors, whether that be ireland or wales or whatever. being proud of that is different than being proud of being white, because white is a social construct specifically created to justify being better than other people. this is historically true, you can look it up. the purpose of whiteness is to oppress others. now, people can be proud of being black because (cont.)

1) people deemed black by the construct of race have been marginalized and oppressed specifically for being black. because of this context, being proud to be black means resilience. 2) many black people don’t even know their ethnic heritage because during chattel slavery they would be punished for practicing their culture or speaking their language. it was systematically done to strip africans of their identity. blackness is the culture they create in spire of that, which has influenced (cont.)

so so much of american culture and music today. also, “white pride” is a slogan that white supremacists use, which gives you even more context as to what these things stand for. that’s why it’s different to be proud of a race vs an ethnicity, but also why black people can and should be proud of their race. race is a pseudoscience anyway, and again it was constructed for the purpose of justifying the oppression of others, with white people being on top

Being proud of yourself heritage is different than “being proud you are white”. You can be proud to be Irish, but not white. You can be proud of yourself and your history, but saying you’re proud you are WHITE, just is distasteful in the context of our culture, society, and history in America. Hope this answers your question.

People say they’re proud to be black or gay or trans or a religious bc they faced challenges by just being who they are or being a certain religion. What adversities or challenges have you faced solely for having white skin? Bc personally, as someone who is white, I have never experienced any. Yea I got struggles and people discriminate against me, buts it’s definitely not bc of my skin color.
