the biggest victim of learned helplessness has got to be my roommate. “i don’t have any butter can i borrow some” there is a store a block away that sells basic essentials such as butter! you could go get your own!

Oh you’d hate me and my roommates. We met last year and share everything. Seasonings, butter, canned goods, paper towels, cooking equipment, storage bowls. Idk it may be because we’re all poc and are taught to create community? Could be wrong.

I SEE YOU this was my roomates to a T this past year. like most times i’d be fine if you’d just ask but then they would take my shit without asking then proceed to ask me to get more at the store like baby you going to the bars every week - you have money for basic essentials

i don’t mind sharing at all that’s totally different!! we share all our kitchen stuff and seasonings, and things like eggs and onions where we just rotate who buys them. i feel like this is different tho bc it’s not really reciprocal

and with the butter for example this is like the third time AND it’s not even for her it’s for her friend. like she uses it enough that it makes sense to buy her own or even both of us get some to share. but i don’t love that she just uses mine instead.
