Okay I’ve spent a lot of time in hospitals, noticing how people’s weight ruins their health. There is no question about it, being fat is bad for your health. HOWEVER I think people like OP approach it from such a judgmental perspective instead of wondering what’s wrong with our nation
u can’t call everyone who disagrees with you privileged or ignorant or unempathetic. i’m poor and i still manage to make educated food decisions and choices. walking is free, but if you can’t exercise for whatever reason you can def choose to eat less crap. idk i get having an ED or health condition that makes it hard to lose weight, but if it’s not from that, it’s just laziness
sure i can because lowkey you are lol maybe those things are realistic and doable for you but immediately 1. you have to have education on this to make educated decisions duh 2. not everyone lives somewhere walkable 3. some people will gain weight if they don’t exercise not just based on diet 4. crap is more accessible
#1 is also kinda a prime example of this. They’re poor and they make good food choices, and they have time to walk. Not everyone has time or a place to go walking. Most Americans work so hard in a shitty job all they wanna go home and do is sleep. Some Americans live in food deserts, and their only grocery store is a Dollar Tree. Some Americans simply just don’t have the education about being fat and the health consequences that come with that.
don’t give me the “i can’t walk im too tired” bs. you can walk for literally just THIRTY minutes a day and do wonders. i have three jobs and i find the time. if you wanna go home and watch tv, then fine. good for you. but don’t sit there and say oh i can’t walk bc you CAN. you don’t have to walk in a darkened alley. walk in the daytime or with a buddy, or even on a !!! treadmill. planet fitness is cheap. i choose to walk to work in the morning and take a bus back home at night.
You’re young. Maybe your jobs aren’t super physically demanding. Maybe they are. You’re obviously in shape, and in a good mental place, so it’s easy for you. Me personally, I’m young and very in shape, but after a 12 hour shift, my ass is not going anywhere but the bed. Walking to work is also an ability most people do not have. As well as the bus. No where has busses in my state. Not a single town has a functioning bus system. You can’t walk to work where I’m from because everything is too far.
