Nah I have a photo of my sister (half black) next to her sorority sister that worked at a tanning place and always tried out their new spray tans, I think my sister embarrassed the FUCK out of her tho bc she was literally darker than my sister. It was insane. But as a white person it is really disappointing to be lumped in with ignorant people so I get OP’s point too. I grew up with a diverse family in a diverse area and it took me a long time to even realize people so small-minded really exist

Tbh I never understood the obsession with tanning. I think most of yall look better without it, esp if you’re like a red head or if you have black hair, like having your natural skin tone with the hair contrasts so well and makes you look striking

Same girl same. Ngl I used a tanning bed but WITH SPF ONLYYY and it has worked so well. I only go once a week and I just feel like I look so glowy, it’s great. They always offer me spray tans but I’m so scared I’ll end up orange or unnaturally dark. I work 2 jobs so I can’t get a lot of time in the real sun but I sure look like I do! :) worth it for me anyway

Yeah I’m terrified of cancer lmao🥲but like I said I didn’t really have much time to get a natural tan without it so I lather than SPF 50 everywhere. Also I knew I was going to FL on vacay and I didn’t want to burn bc my skin wasn’t used to any sun exposure, and the “studying” totally worked!! I never burned, just got super more tan lol (but still super natural looking which is the best!!!). Especially bc burning makes you more susceptible to cancer too

I don’t have a spray tans this is literally just my natural tan so I do in fact glow. I get compliments on it. After FL I did feel like a little dark lol so I just haven’t been tanning since my vacation but it literally just looks like I went to the beach bc I did. I am NOT orange lmao. But I went to school w many ppl that spray tan and yeah I get it, they definitely overdo it sometimes.

I am in the Midwest too. It is actually really bad I agree. I’m originally from a huge city in TX so most ppl were either POC or tanned enough naturally bc of the climate/area. I had culture shock for a few reasons moving here but I was shoooook at how jersey shore the tanning can be!😅i get secondhand embarrassment from them so I could NEVERRRR become that
