yep it was high school. we were planning to go to homecoming as a friend group, and it was like 5 different friend groups making plans together. and there were 5 or so boys who didn’t want me there bc i was (am) poor, they said i dressed poorly, was too loud, too fat, and that they would be embarrassed to be seen with me.
