If that’s a typical period for you then you should see a obgyn

My period has never been that extreme, but raspberry leaf tea seems to help when I get bad cramps! Plus I can use the warm mug as a heating pad on my stomach while I drink it lmao

If it’s any consolation I started bc at 15 because of endo and I’ve only had good things to say! Not to dismiss your mom’s experience but some people can really benefit from bc

I’m on the combination pill and I haven’t had a period or any period symptom in 6 years and my periods used to be soooo bad. Like would be paralyzed in pain, awful mood swings, and acne. It can be really helpful for certain people, I never had any bad side effects either

I had similar issues, no vomiting (I have other reasons why I don’t vomit) but extreme pain and screaming in my sleep from it. Progesterone is amazing! I recommend Slynd but it’s a little pricey (at cvs with a coupon it’s $80 for 3 months… my insurance doesn’t allow for slynd)

I take birth control for these issues. Birth control does not lessen the pain or blood flow. It just makes the pain less often depending on the pack length you take

I think it depends which one you take, some definitely can lessen blood flow. BC is sometimes used to treat anemia for this reason

I’m so sorry about your endo! The combination pill has been great for my PMDD but I get the fear of starting something that your mom had a bad reaction to. For cramps I love the slimpal heating belt (someone on girl talk recommended it) because it has heat and vibration settings and the vibration especially helps with cramps. Good luck getting treatment! 💜

My mom has been dealing with endo her whole life, even with the pill it was still bad. They finally decided to try an IUD and she feels like her life has changed. One of my friends too. I think maybe you can try and ask for alternatives to the pill. Unfortunately we have to advocate for ourselves :(
