sorry to keep asking questions but should i teach hamlet (with a discourse on vengeance) or othello (with a discourse on racism) to my tenth graders

is this their first intro to shakespeare? i think othello is an easier one to get into than hamlet and the discourse may be more relevant as well!

othello is a bit easier to follow along imo rather than hamlet.

othello is soooo good, honestly one of the few shakespeare plays i really enjoyed

ah makes sense, i read that one and midsummer as a freshman, i think macbeth in 10th? didn’t get to hamlet until senior year, i def feel like it’s easier to appreciate once you have a good amount of shakespeare under your belt
