I think (?) the point I was trying to make or smthg was that I really want to shoot my shot at some point because I think there’s a possibility he could feel similarly (even if there’s an age gap and I’m tease him a lot)

The true issue here is that he kind of (is/was??) my mentor for training, although our relationship may have shifted a bit today? I made some joke about being under his jurisdiction and he said please not to say that because we work together (I previously referred to myself as his minion to his amusement).
