ok there’s a lot to take in about this comment but first off i wasn’t socialized as a man. even if socially i was seen as a boy i was constantly othered by both groups and even the boys never saw me as one of them even when i tried to fit in. second off saying ogres vs shrek cosplayers as an analogy is ☹️
yes cis women and trans women experience different things growing up but saying we’re socialized as men or saying we’re cosplaying as women and appropriating the female experience is straight up untrue. people have been misogynistic to me. post-transition people have hit on me. i have never had any sort of male privilege.
not having a period will never be considered to be MORE womanly than having one. you can have the “just as womanly,” fine. ok. your experience is completely different but you can be as much of a woman as anyone if you believe hard enough. but if you never had to cry and ask your mom why there was blood on the seat, get told you just dont understand life till you’ve given birth, you’re not just somehow MORE of a woman than people who grew up this way
