Despite your grandma that’s so awesome you guys are like that as a family unit, I’m sure she’s very appreciative especially considering she’s probably middle aged. I feel like a lot of older trans people just “suck it up” and never come out because of the worse stigma they grew up with and feeling like it’s “too late”
my brother came out as FTM trans semi recently, and while i think my whole family is accepting (i’m not too sure ab my older brother still), they tend to use female pronouns for safety reasons bc of where we live. however, i try to do my best to remind my brother how masculine he’s looking. i know it just makes his day :)
My aunt is the only family that my mom has left. Both of their parents are dead, and it’s just them. My mom is also very accepting and educated on trans stuff and same with me. Like the fact that she questioned if my mom was “okay” with my aunt transitioning is odd. I just hope my grandma don’t start anything or say somthing rude to her
We are so proud of her and I’m so glad that both my mom and dad are very accepting! She doesn’t interact with my grandma on my dad’s side much, so I just hope my grandma can bite her tongue bc I’m going to be defending my aunt tooth and nail. I don’t play when it comes to bigotry
