I’m not saying we shouldn’t criticize AI or demand regulation. I’m saying “AI is harmful” and “AI is already deeply embedded in society” can both be true. It’s in search, social media, phones, workplaces, and education. If it’s a male-dominated industry, women opting out entirely arguably gives men more control over how it develops. We should be at the table shaping it, not voluntarily leaving the table because extremists online guilt trip everybody into an unrealistic expectation
