Kimmel joked “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it” and they called it NEWS DISTORTION

he gave no opinion on charlie kirk… they can’t even argue “you can’t speak poorly about the dead” because he DIDNT. he just called maga a cult (which he was right, and this proves it). i feel like not enough ppl are freaking out about this. like this feels like beginning of something bad idk. this really is 2020 pt 2 jfc.

Did he even say anything about Kirk specifically? Only quotes I’ve seen have been his opinion on the actual shooter, not necessarily Kirk himself

It is a problem bc he’s a major public figure being tone deaf and using misinformation to stoke a fire that doesn’t need stoking.

How the hell does Fox News, marketed as an ACTUAL NEWS CHANNEL, get away with lying but the minute a talkshow makes an exaggerated joke it is called news distortion and threatened by the FCC

the FCC chair Brendan Carr went on a podcast and said that ABC’s broadcast license might be at risk from having a pattern of news distortion

Uh, he said that the shooter was MAGA which is just flat out a lie. You don’t think ppl should be held accountable for blatantly lying on TV and in media? His goal was clearly to worsen the political divide by egging it on and saying something like that just makes things worse. Kimmel also literally said Charlie’s name while speaking which involves him in the conversation.

Since you’re concerned about “egging things on” what exactly do you have to say about Trump and Vance essentially blaming the entirety of the left for this and saying that there is “no unity” with us? Also now you guys say it’s a bad thing just to mention his name? Should I get you fired for saying Charlie in your comment then?

It’s not totally a lie. robinson’s a groyper. Killed kkkirk for not being ENOUGH of a piece of shit and for giving any of his platform to anyone center or slightly left.

Didn’t Trump literally meet with that wacko Fuentes a few years ago, realize he was deranged, and then said yeahhh I don’t wanna be involved with you??? The murderer made it clear he didn’t agree with and hated Charlie Kirk’s ideals. Don’t you think if Charlie aligned himself with the same white supremacist rhetoric that Fuentes did, he would’ve seen Charlie in a positive light the same way as Fuentes? Just bc they are both right wing commentators doesn’t mean they share 100% common ground.

I’ve seen several ppl on here say they don’t believe they should have to coexist with republicans soooo… I also think two wrongs don’t make a right. I personally think there is no innocent side right now, but I’m sorry you just cannot ignore who specifically sparked this whole thing when he pulled the trigger making an already tense political realm even worse.

Ok I can already tell you have little to offer in this conversation with your constant and unnecessary use of Nazi rhetoric and terminology. I think I’ll take the high road and just not pay mind to your incoherent, overdramatized comments. Have a good one 👍

you mean he said charlie’s name when talking about charlie’s death? horrifying.🙄and girl we are DIVIDED. it’s maga vs everyone else atp. a lil comment from jimmy kimmel wasn’t gonna do anymore damage than trump has done in his 5 years in office. please. wake the fuck up.

As always, nothing but projection. I’m not the one who blamed Jews and Queer people for issues my buddies are causing. I don’t think Black people are less then. Y’all sure are quick as fuck to defend that, though. Almost like you’re… oh, what’s the word? Shmight hupremasiss? Sounds kind of like that? 🤔

I think my comment above literally showed that there are plenty of non MAGA ppl on the right. If you think there is one kind of liberal you’d be wrong too. The point I’m making is he wasn’t helping the situation that was already tense and he got reprimanded for it. Simple. Jimmy Kimmel has atleast a million viewers per night so you can’t say people aren’t listening to the things he says and that it doesn’t do any damage. It literally is him just throwing his gas can in the already stoking fire.

also. what if we stopped pointing fingers at right or left, cis or trans, and started talking about GUNS and MENTAL HEALTH?? the actual problems here. i swear people love to bitch and bicker because it’s all they can control.

Did I ever say I disagreed with that? I actually think the MAIN problem we have in this country is mental illness. Period. You will never see 0 gun deaths in this country I’m sorry but it’s true. We can absolutely take steps to reduce them for sure but we NEED to prioritize and care about mental health diagnoses and treatments to prevent bad people from committing acts of violence. I think it’s time to have some hard conversations surrounding mental illness & how we treat people impacted by it.

Ok so what I’m saying is when FOX does it, it’s wrong and so I’m just confused as to why people are now ok with Kimmel doing it. If you condemn one should you condemn the other?

Anyone rn who is stoking the fire is in the wrong. Period. It’s going to be extremely hard to get rid of major corporations like FOX or CNN considering their legal power. But Kimmel is essentially an employee of ABC a similar corporation. And therefore he’s essentially no different than these other people losing their jobs for poor taste remarks.

Have you seen what he’s said in its entirety at all or??? It was him falsely stating that the murderer was someone in the MAGA movement, that was the main issue. Why say something when you don’t have the facts to back it up in front of millions of viewers? If this was flipped and he made claims that it was a trans person or a liberal without any context, would ppl still find it funny and defend it?

upvote -1 downvote

Yes because everyone of the reich was quick to jump to blaming trans people. We know robinson has ties to nick fuentes’s groyper group. They are right-wing. Kimmel should not be suspended for that. Y’all kept a bloodthirsty piece of shit who said homeless people should be executed for being homeless. Make it make fucking sense.

You’ve seen the video. What I’m seeing is that ppl are already up in arms on both sides, and there was a much better way to present that as a talking point rather than making it entirely about shitting on Trump and his associates. That’s why I think it’s tone deaf. He could have just said something on condemning violence and taken thirty seconds to just be serious in front of a large audience.

there are many countries around the world who have zero or extremely low gun deaths. it is possible. we just don’t want to do the work. japan, finland, norway, switzerland. why do they all allow guns yet have low gun deaths? the problem here is the people who is able to have access to guns

u can say the same thing about the things charlie kirk said such as the 1964 civil rights act was a mistake, he would make his 10 year old daughter who was raped give birth, he wouldn’t trust a black pilot simply because of the color of their skin, black people were better in the 1940s during segregation, 1 in 5 women must be lying about getting raped and more ?

Yeah & someone felt like those opinions were enough to warrant violence (which is disgusting & wrong) and there are apparently also a lot of people who support violence as an answer to words and are dumb enough to brag about it so there really is no moral high ground you can claim. I’m not supporting everything he said, I never said I did. This was a convo about Kimmel & I’m saying that he knew what he was doing and chose the wrong words at the wrong time and got reprimanded for it. Simple.

No, what I was saying is that most of the things the people on the right were saying actually were correct from the jump. NOT ALL BUT MOST. It’s not “scoring political points” when it was something ppl on the right already knew. He made it sound like people were purely bullshitting and just trying to throw the hot potato around.
