It’s really not… if people don’t fly often… not everyone knows that pepper stray is considered an aerosol… meaning it has to be checked

Actually it’s more because it’s an aerosol.. because if it wasn’t in an air compressed can.. they would problem let it through since it’s not considered a deadly weapon… I’ve flown with pepper spray so it really depends on the TSA officer… they also take hair spray for the same reason.

Again it’s not the equivalent to a fire arm. Therefore technically it can be allowed in the cabin. It also depends on the type of pepper spray and the container it’s in.
