My hair was mid back, I got a bob in June, and then chopped it to more like a bob/pixie yesterday. I think taking steps to get it to where you want is the best procedure to not absolutely freak out if it’s not exactly how you want it😭

I had hair down to my butt then chopped it into a pixie. I loved it but it was a lot of upkeep and maintenance so I’m growing my hair out again. Doing a big chop tho can be very jarring for some people so be careful and I suggest going in stages. Unless you know you will like it don’t cut off a bunch

I buzz cut my hair in 2020 and now my hair reaches my butt 🤷‍♀️ and I’ve had trims. This “it’ll look crazy” is insane. You rock w the “awkward phases” and can style your hair

I said it’ll look crazy if u hate it. personally I did a big chop and had a bob, HATED it, and it grew out so weird for so long. if you don’t hate it, nbd

I think when ppl say it’ll look crazy just mean that sometimes when people do a big change it takes them time to get used to it and they hate it and freak out. Some people don’t care and adjust to the new change immediately🤷‍♀️ I got a bob, liked it but it was too long and took scissors to my hair but there’s no WAY I would’ve chopped my own hair off when it was mid back😭 but that’s just my perspective!!

Hate it and freak out even if objectively it looks great, sometimes it’s hard to adjust to change if ur not all in boots on the ground ready for it, in that case it might be better to do the change in stages

I have very fine hair, and I seem to just lose a lot of it right now, I wonder if a chop would help with some of the “weight”

I think it def would!! My neck stopped hurting when I chopped my hair😭 fair warning tho u will still shed the same amount of hair it’ll just definitely feel like less since ur hair is shorter, i had forgotten that til I chopped it and FREAKED the first time I washed it 😭
