I have been fasting, in a calorie deficit, AND doing cardio every other day and have not lost a single pound. What the actual fuck.

I’d suggest doing exercises other than cardio as well! Similar to what #1 said, your body could be trying to hold onto as much energy as it can right now because you’re fasting. Fasting can help with weight loss, but generally just a small calorie deficit (~500-600 kcal) is better for permanent weight loss than fasting is

how long have you been doing this & is it possibly that your body isnt agreeing with the fasting and slowing your metabolism down so when you do eat - even if it’s like protein rich foods , it’s not like working through as fast

I did it last summer to lose a couple pounds and then stopped because school is stressful and that would’ve been a lot on my body to continue and I’ve just begun again like 3 weeks ago.

your body could be getting used to it again since it’s only been a month - cycle fluctuating could be a factor too as well as water retention.

Also, while cardio is great because it works the body without gaining muscle, your body can get used to the workload and adapt. Variation in exercises is vital for developing a healthier body and for weight loss. You can use weights and still lose weight, essentially

I’m also trying to lose weight. I started mid December and I’ve only lost 5 pounds. Please remember that you can do everything right and still not lose as fast as you want. It can be discouraging to not see the number go down faster, but what really matters is how you feel in your body, not your scale. We’re in this together!
