as a southerner i feel about the north the way the us feels about the europe. yall point out things that genuinely need change but in a really mean way and without consideration for the actual people in the situation so i dont like listening to it

No one deserves to have their lives screwed over especially since we know maga is kinda like a disease anyway… and not everyone chose this or has had enough time/resources to leave.

NO THIS DEADASS!! Because it’s also true an enormous number of us did NOT vote for this and are disgusted. There’s so much voter suppression down here. As somebody from a really diverse swing state that’s also very southern this PMO so bad.

no specific context but one example is when texas froze and asheville flooded and a bunch of people said they had no sympathy (some said they deserved it) of the people dying bc they live in a red state. yes the policies in these states are awful but thats such a cruel thing to say when real people are suffering

tbh yeah i understand why people would look the other way but at the end of the day we are just people. n i think that politics is really putting a big wedge in between the fact we are just humans at the end of the day

i wouldnt mind if it was just looking the other way rather than needless cruelty. like please continue to stand and speak up with us against what our governments are doing but people go too far

i mean half of america voted for Trump and our current government.. and texas is HUGE chunk it’s not like people are ignoring it because they don’t care, it’s more so this is what you voted for so deal with the consequences on your actions

yeah... but there are people here who didn't vote for that. my community was ravaged by helene, and we have people telling us we deserved it because we're trump voting hicks. i'm a leftist, as are most of the people here that i know. we didn't vote for this shit.

it is literally psychopathic behavior to completely write the south off. you're discounting all of the minorities, leftists, and queer folks that live down here. but hey, guess we all deserved it for being trump voting white trash hicks! 😀

a lot of people didnt vote for trump and were being lumped in as well. also saying people deserve to die bc of who they voted for is a slippery slope, even when it starts with someone as obviously evil as trump

I never said everyone deserves it. It’s like when a few kids act up and the whole class gets punished. I can’t speak for individuals, but Texas voted for Trump, he cut weather funding, and now there’s all this flooding. Actions have consequences that’s all I’m saying

the flood would have happened regardless of whether people voted for him. it was mainly children that died—who cannot vote at all. to sum it up as "actions have consequences" is kinda a gross take ngl.

We need to stay focused. MAGA is BAD. The patriarchy is BAD. Not everyone fucked over be either is inherently in support of either. Also moving out of the US/ where you are located is a PROCESS which could take years. Just because you live around bad people doesn’t mean you’re bad…

Maybe just maybe if yall had the funding then yall culda been more prepared or had information abt the situation in advance Thats what i think they are saying.

I think you’re missing the point. The flood was going to happen either way but Trump defunded key parts of the weather department. That means fewer tools and less access to accurate forecasting. Some areas weren’t warned properly, which is why people couldn’t prepare in time which he put into project 2025 which why is people aren’t showing the sympathy they should because Project 25 told us what was gonna happen and people still voted for him, especially Texas

helene happened pre trump and we still didn't get empathy for that. trump fucked us over too. people need to stop acting like a bunch of people losing everything to a hurricane is justified. it's not in any respect.

and it was children who died in that texas flooding. i've literally seen people say things like "serves them right". it was literally fucking children. trump sucks, but this shit is absolutely insane.

yes trump is awful. plenty of us hate him too. it's no excuse to just say "welp the consequences of your own actions!" when a bunch of indigent folks in Appalachia lose everything, or a bunch of children in texas drowned.

“Actions have consequences” did you know that like half of Texas voted for Harris?? Same with GA. Did you also know that collective punishment is a crime against humanity??

i get what youre saying, but both events i named were pre-project 2025. it was just cruelty for the sake of it
