i think the dislike and hate of cats stems from misogyny because cats are always seen as feminine creatures while dogs are seen as masculine. pet smart had a free treat for any animal dressed up but then ONLY had dog treats so cats who came in dressed up got absolutely nothing

sections for cats in pet stores are always smaller too. less options for costumes and treats and toys and basically everything else. even at my local walmart dogs get 3 aisles cats got barely half of one

Idk I think this has more to do with the years we spent domesticating dogs that we didn’t really do with cats and the fact that more people own dogs than cats
