My final thoughts on all of this: I’m just as disillusioned by the state of the American government of this as anyone. But I don’t think people fully grasp how difficult it will be to disentangle the United States from Israel. Radical change is urgently needed. But will take time. So many people who could have voted, chose not to. To the detriment of all of us. Trump is a much bigger threat to Palestine than any other candidate would have been and we could have stopped him. That’s it.

yeah. she would have been better, but ultimately still contributed to the genocide in Palestine and deportations. we need a truly progressive candidate to run. 😭

We’re stuck with a paedophilic felon who wants to kill off every minority. Because of the inaction of many voters, sidelining and not voting at all or trying to incorrectly use this election to “send a message”, we’re all knocked down quite a few steps. Despite the fascists we’re still under… تحيا فلسطين! 🤟🏻

you can vote for her as a last resort but let’s not whitewash and promote war criminals and genocide enablers

there is no such thing as the US government not supporting Israel. they are in the bed together. literally since it was founded in 1948

very aware, however that does not absolve harris. supporting a genocide is supporting a genocide. a revolution is sorely needed

so if every president is going to be supportive of genocide that’s not a point against Harris. that’s dumb.

every president will also serve the interests of capitalism over the people. it is one million times over a point against them. the bourgeoisie will continue to bleed us dry as long as they maintain power.

No one can handle the truth of this. The US and Israel have a decades long relationship and the US needs an affluent ally in the Middle East. Behind closed doors I doubt most progressive politicians here are pro-Israel. Their hands are being forced.

we’re not speaking in hypotheticals here though unfortunately this is reality. when you say “but ultimately still contributed” it reads like that’s not an inherent part of the position. there really is no but.

i'm not speaking in hypotheticals. backing israel ultimately lost her a ton of the progressive vote. it's honestly unconscionable to vote for someone contributing to an active genocide regardless.

you’re still speaking about her as if backing Israel is a personal stance and not one of the government itself. I’m confused as to how that could make her lose votes because every presidential candidate is contributing to an active genocide ….

maybe kamala should have just been a better candidate. telling anti-genocide protesters to "shut up" before promising more arms to israel lost her my vote. i hate trump, but i'm not going to cast a vote for someone who treats other people like that.

Really well said. While we appreciate the support and visibility, a lot of virtue signaling going on within the movement. Shooting your own democracy in the foot does nothing to help us. One day, more progressive/ethical candidates will hopefully be contenders for the Oval Office. In this election, it was Kamala or a rapist. The choice was simple and in no way negated the necessity of radical social/political change and restructuring within the government.

Girl why are you lecturing an actual Palestinian and telling her her vote is “unconscionable?” On an objective level Trump is worse for Palestine, openly so. This is the guy who wanted to flatten it and turn it into a resort. Harris at least discussed a ceasefire. There were no good options on Palestine, but refusing to vote for Harris so you could virtue signal is part of the reason Trump got elected and actively facilitates genocide as well.

right now the democrats cannot put up a progressive candidate because they will not get enough votes from moderates. someone like aoc would probably be great for our country and for us, but moderates and moderate republicans will not see it that way, they’ll see the democrats trying to push the “woke agenda” what we need right now is to put up a moderate democrat that can make BOTH sides happy. our most important goal rignt now is to win. elections. thats not gonna happen if we keep trying to

you wanna talk about revolution but the us is on a far right trend and we’re not gonna go from that to dismantling capitalism overnight. it will take decades just to get back to where we were in 2015 in terms of progressiveness.

A working class (proletarian) revolution where the proletariat seizes the means of production from the capital owning ruling class. Which would transition from a market economy (capitalism) to a planned one where wealth and means of production are distributed among the workers (socialism)

We can prepare for that moment by organizing now so that when the next crisis or opportunity arises, we have the organization to make a revolution successful. And we can prepare by rejecting capitalism’s individualism and relying on our community more. And by participating in mutual aid and organizing in labor unions, strikes, advocating for rental rights etc we can raise class consciousness to have a better organized and educated populace

Bc the right conditions have to be in place for it to even be possible. Right now they don’t exist in the Us. But like 2020 could have been a moment. 2008 with the recession. Revolutions in another country or war, as well, could spark an opportune moment here. We’re not properly organized yet tho
