super famous french feminist author who wrote “The Second Sex” and “The Woman Destroyed.” she’s basically credited with advancing second wave feminism. so it’s really a kick in the ass that she was using her gravitas as a feminist to attract young girls who wanted change in the world and manipulated and abused them. fucking asshole

it’s all on her wikipedia. i was crushed because i was looking into feminist authors. i really loved betty friedans “feminine mystique” and was looking for more and in the midst of people praising her was this giant section about all of the SA allegations against teenage girls while she was acting as a “mentor”
