I just saw a white woman on tt get called out for buying land in hawaii and she replied with a “”clapback”” saying “ackkssuallly i was born here, my parents moved here in 1998” … ok and youre still a white settler taking advantage of settler colonialism

Well shit it’s not her fault she was born there though. She can acknowledge it but also she’s lived there her whole life so of course she aims to stay there

No she shouldn’t displace indigenous Hawaiians by buying land…

She’s lived there since birth and we are assuming she has contributed to the economy in a very normal way, she is not a tourism or a mega millionaire

If anything her parents were the ones displacing indigenous Hawaiians

And so she could continue on the cycle of displacement? Yeah she can’t help that she was born there but she can control whether she contributes to further indigenous displacement… indigenous Hawaiians are being displaced out of their homes bc wealthy white settlers are buying up all their land
