yeah 1000 seems too low. im eating at 1600, and im still losing weight, but im also moderately active. my main form of workouts are walking and body weight exercises (too poor for a gym membership)

The weight program I use says specifically it’s dangerous and unsustainable in the long term for the average woman to go under 1,200 calories and 1,600 for men

do you have hormonal issues? like PCOS or hypothyroidism? if you haven’t been checked definitely look into it! eating such a low calorie diet makes it very difficult to get the adequate amount of minerals, vitamins, protein, and essential fatty acids!

that’s possibly PCOS. ask to get your androgen levels tested! also, a lot of insurances will cover weight loss drugs like the semaglutides for women with PCOS. my friend has PCOS and her insurance covers her zepbound even though she technically wasn’t “morbidly obese” or had any comorbidities like diabetes.

when you ask for blood tests you usually have to ask for a specific thing. most standard blood tests are complete metabolic panels which do not check for hormones.

lowest you can eat (being inactive with a smaller body) is about 1200 cals, otherwise bodily functions start shutting down

Did they check if you’re insulin resistant/your blood sugar levels? PCOS often causes insulin resistance which can translate into up to -400 calories what a normal person could have
