I remember being so confused when I found out some Christians didn’t believe in evolution bc my Catholic school always taught real science lol

I think most Christians have the view of like “not everything evolved from a single cell over billions of years, but the world and creatures have changed over time”

In my conservative hometown there’s a literal anti evolution bill board.

Ok question how did they explain evolution and Adam and Eve to you guys? At my Christian school they really discouraged questions like that and just said that “the enemy” will always try to trick us. I’m an anthropologist so I definitely believe in evolution now but I’m just curious lol

I don’t believe in evolution either not to mention it’s but a theory.

As a Christian, I don’t think evolutionary theory (not simple natural selection) should be taught as true or false, but as a theory. I think it’s wrong to teach it as definitely true because there’s no way to verify it, it’s not directly observable, at the end of the day it’s conjecture. But this is only because of intellectual honesty. Whether or not “evolution” happened I don’t think it disproves the bible though, and people that think it does haven’t read the bible with proper context.

For drill team in hs we also volunteered for a banquet of a pro life organization. There were pictures of fetuses strung up on the wall 😀

Oh my catholic school every year always set up mass graves all over campus for the “victims” of abortion. It was actually a pretty conservative school for Catholic standards but at least they taught real science

Pretty sure they told us that Adam and Eve was just a story and allegory to teach a lesson? It wasn’t taught as historical fact. I do remember my teachers talking about how evolution is very much real bc God planned it that way. That both can coexist. God had it planned that we’d eventually evolve into humans basically

Yeah but my school was very anti-gay and pro life tho unfortunately :/ and it was an all girls school so they taught a lot about female empowerment and how strong we are as women but still played into a lot of the patriarchal norms of the church
