Anyone else voluntarily submit themselves to a mental hospital for suicidal ideation and then despite marked improvement over the first three days they don’t let you leave and get a court order to make you stay for ten days? I’m fucking traumatized ngl

I voluntarily submitted for my ed and ended up having to stay for two months bc if I left before they discharged me insurance wouldn’t cover any of it at all so it would’ve been like a million times more expensive so kinda similar

They told me the longest that a typical recommended stay is 5-7 days, but since I was voluntary I should have had a right to leave after 48 hours
