I’m not concerned about him cheating btw, I’m just asking about the contagiousness of it. I did a little reading that says it never really goes away which has me a bit spooked

It’s pretty rare if you had it as a kid and it recurred asymptotically as an adult, but mono is a very common herpesvirus and hopefully it won’t recur in him again. Speaking as someone who got mono this way from a hookup🥲

It can be contagious for 4-6 weeks before symptoms

You can get it from improperly cleaned silverware at restaurants which is so gross to think about. Or if he accidentally drank out of someone else’s cup, or maybe someone was sick and handled food he ate.

To my knowledge he only ever accidentally swaps cups with family sometimes and no one else has it but you have a good point. Thank you for the info :)
