Also simply, if you hate it gtfo then or try to do what you can to make the change you want. You do zero good when all you talk about is hating a whole ass country

I’ve always hated the 4th even when I was a kid bc it’s always like 115 degrees. Now my hatred goes way deeper. I get fireworks are fun and stuff but I don’t get those who genuinely celebrate the holiday

active historical and knowledge erasure from public (ex. Tiananmen Square), heavy monitoring of citizens and active censorship of government criticism or historical events (like the Tiananmen Square incident), mandated military training in schools, active genocide of uyghur muslim population, list goes on

it’s kind of crazy to me the amount of hate the US government gets for the smallest things while China is doing and has done all this actually insane shit and no one bats an eyelash

We do most of those things and a million worse things plus we were founded on genocide, settler colonialism and slavery? And have toppled countless democratic governments across the world in order to maintain western hegemony and capitalism? And have murdered millions and millions to do so? Even just looking at Palestine alone, look at all the carnage we’ve left? China isn’t genociding the Palestinians and bobbing the whole world

we actually do not do those things on any kind of similar level! please do your research on exactly how China does these before making a rant about it that long. you can hate the states while understanding that China is an actual, real live authoritarian state and everything uneducated people think the US is. I have my own opinions on the Palestinian conflict, but there is a difference between a conflict harming civilians and an active, organized in-country genocide. please go research

I’ve done plenty of research on China seeing as how I’m a socialist, I don’t know how you can assume my education level. and ofc a Zionist will think that China is worse than the US so I’m not surprised by your take. We are conducting a genocide in Palestine and this country, point blank period

I said I have my own opinions on the Palestine conflict. If you really want to know, my opinions are that we have overstepped in the conflict by a lot and it’s harming many Palestinian civilians. to immediately assume how I felt with no specifics and then resort straight to name calling is wild tho, if that’s your gut reaction to someone saying they have an opinion without knowing it you’re not worth my time continuing here. all I’m saying is China is way more fire nation than the US is

Anonymous replying to -> #2 11w

yes exactly, but you can still acknowledge if we’re talking specifically fire nation one is clearly a lot closer than the other. criticism of both is still good and can lead to positive change, the difference is the US government is not actively censoring or killing dissenters even at the smallest amount, at least not on CLOSE to the level China has been doing for years. the fact that we can have this discussion online and they would be hunted down for something similar should be all you need

this is a post about the country that most closely aligns to the fire nation and I mentioned one that I think fits the bill. that is an on topic comment, rather than a hypothetical unrelated idea that’s so removed from reality that it isn’t relevant to the discussion, which is what a“whataboutism” is. please look up what words mean before trying to use them as some cool gotcha moment online

Name calling? I can tell by the way you spoke about it, calling it a “conflict” and refusing to condemn it as a genocide that you’re clearly a Zionist. Zionist isn’t like a slur, it’s a descriptor of your beliefs on the “conflict” which I vehemently oppose. Antizionists don’t call it a conflict and recognize it as a genocide. Even the way you’re talking about it now, I can tell you’re a liberal zionist. You’re the one that assumed I’m uneducated on China

The US government IS actively censoring and killing dissenters tho 😭 it’s now antisemitic to be against Israel and can make you subject to removal from this country. And do you know what they did to the black panthers and MLK? We are actively hunted for our opinions here too, like all the ICE raids?

OP said “the US is basically the fire nation” and I said “I don’t think so, China is way closer to being the fire nation than the US is” bro that is not even close to being a whataboutism. it is if you’re not paying any attention or deliberately ignore half of the words though

again, we are able to have this conversation on this app. people dissent online CONSTANTLY. TikTok, instagram, protests, and how many of them are hunted down and killed? people in China literally cannot do ANY of those things without an actual fear of being killed. again, I am not saying NOTHING is happening to people like that here, and it’s still relevant to discuss those issues, but the amount is just not comparable at all to living in China. if you think it is, you’re incredibly uninformed

again my belief on the matter is that Palestine is being persecuted wrongly and I don’t think the US should be getting our military involved because they are creating needless Palestinian civilian deaths. If you actually think that makes me a Zionist that’s insane. I know you’re uneducated on modern China because you think it’s less “fire nation” than the US. I have known several people who lived and still live there and it’s incredibly offensive to what they’ve been through (1/2)

that you, in your incredible privilege of living in a free democratic country, while discussing how much you hate your government freely online with no fear of consequences, actually think this country is worse than theirs. I know people who’ve been taken and never seen again from happy, normal homes. It’s not uncommon. No notice, nothing in the news because the news outlets are silenced. you can read or share public news articles saying trump should die and you’re saying we have it harder?

You realize our government is surveilling our social media presence, right? Our entire phones? Are you unaware of the patriot act? Ppl HERE are punished for what they say online. Killed?? lmao. You realize WE have the largest prison population…right? China is far from perfect but their actions are mostly in response to western imperialism and interference. We do all those things x10 compared to China. I’m not uneducated, YOURE miseducated with anti-China and pro America propaganda.

Does Israel have the right to exist and should the country be disbanded? Liberal Zionists feign moral outrage over the genocide (or what you call a “conflict”) of Palestinians and against Israel all the time, that doesn’t make them not a Zionist. Do you know the definition of Zionism? Antizionists recognize it as a genocide, you can’t even call it a genocide when many liberal Zionists do..

genuinely have you ever interacted with a Chinese person who grew up in China and talked about how they felt about it and what it is truly like? asked them about the government and watched them get uncomfortable and tell you they’re being listened to? seen them have a full panic attack because someone nearby said just the words “Tiananmen Square” and they were worried their phone picked it up?

What UR saying is incredibly untrue and offensive to the millions of victims of US imperialism worldwide AND domestically. We have a lot of privilege bc we oppress the entire world, that doesn’t make us less harmful than China. We absolutely do not live in a free democratic country lmao and the Chinese have way more rights than we do (again they’re far from perfect, just stating facts).

I believe in doing a large amount of research on topics before taking a hard stance on them, and I’m not going to just use everyone’s favorite buzzwords about a topic I’m not incredibly educated about so randos on the internet like me. it’s something I would like to know more about, but since I haven’t exhausted my resources on it yet I don’t have a super aggressive stance yet. from what I know, it’s violent and unjustified. I can’t research everything going on in the world yet, I have a job lol

That’s not at all why the American revolution happened. The American revolution was a bourgeois revolution, not a workers revolution, that was founded on the right to keep slaves and genocide our indigenous population. It was a bunch of rich dudes who were tired of being restricted in making more money by the British monarchy.

Uhh it’s simply pointing out a fact. We should despise the US as it oppresses us too… if more ppl were rightfully outraged as we should be we’d stand up against this country. But it brainwashes us to be complacent and view countries like China or each other as the enemy. Least educated, least informative… are you a trumpie? I don’t believe in abandoning my comrades and moving to another country to exploit their economy. Sorry. We have different value systems, clearly.

Idk where you live but I see dozens and dozens of homeless people every day. It’s 115 degrees here in the summer. Extreme heat is the deadliest weather condition. They COOK to death. No one deserves that. Shame on you. At least you’re consistent with your regressive views on human beings

again, I’m only mocking you. I think there are a lot of homeless people who are homeless because of external factors they couldn’t control. however I live in a city and most of the homeless people I see physically or sexually harass me or others on a very regular basis. I tried to give a homeless person food once and he called me fat (I’m a size 0 so that was weird to start) and tried to throw it at me. I’m sure there are good normal homeless people, I just haven’t met them yet
