You can downvote and yell at me all you want but I won’t change my mind. WE NEED TO STOP TAKING PICTURES AND VIDEOS OF PEOPLE WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. Crazy that some of yall tell me to shut up or disagree with this statement.

i don't like it for several reasons, but a big one is safety. You never know if that person is running from somebody dangerous, whether that be abusive family member/ex, a stalker, or even as extreme as they're in WITSEC. Ik those are kind of extreme but we really never know, there's no indicators. And if you film them is a well known place, and the dangerous person sees it and identifies the place, it's easier for them to distinguish the area that person is in and puts them in greater danger

It’s also illegal in several states, which no one seems to be aware of

I mean… I disagree for the sole reason being: that means I can’t video an abuser or someone committing a crime or a boss hitting on me, etc. not being able to record something without everyone’s consent effects a lot more than just people being photographed while walking or in the back of a photo. Legally it’s going to protect more bad people than punish anyone. Unless the law is like “no photography with malicious intent or use” like multiple photos of the same person (stalking) or something.

To add to this topic of safety, I think it would only be okay to film if your safety is threatened. Like if someone is trying to get at you and you are looking to acquire evidence, but it shouldn’t be posted online for “entertainment”. Only for the authorities viewing.

Have you ever heard about this little thing called “morality”?

It’s traumatic for some people. How about you learn to empathize. You don’t need to film people’s worst moments. Y’all clearly never learned that once something is out there is stays.

They aren’t talking about morality, they are talking about the law. Is it wrong to film people sometimes? Ya, but it’s never against the law if it’s on public property and in public

Nobody mentioned the law til that guy. But sure, you could, legally. Still, if you do, you’re an asshole.

It actually is in a lot of states against the law to do this

I’m taking what you said as in a legal things rather than an opinion thing, because like just generally yeah that’s a good moral rule, but legally that could do more harm than good sometimes
