too many people mistake their dogs’ aggression, reactivity, and anxiousness as them being “protective.” like… no. your dog is being aggressive and reactive to people with no real protection training or commands and THAT’S a huge problem and liability.
we thought this about our dog. then he bit the neighbors dog, unprovoked. it was horrible. because of that he now lives with my sister 1 state away, who does a much better job with him than my parents did.

yep. some dogs it’s either a training/socialization issue or they’re genetically aggressive and in that case BE needs to be considered.
