From my understanding, the difference between a situationship and dating is if both parties consent to the term. I don’t think it’s something other people can determine

This is more about people that use it to invalidate people’s feelings or avoid commitment like a lot of players and cheaters pull the “we aren’t dating” card to get away with their actions
