In case you haven’t noticed, immigrants are treated horribly in the US. They pay into the pot with their taxes and get nothing in return. Even those who are here legally often have to wait YEARS of paying taxes before they’re even considered for things like social security or Medicaid. We’ve given them far from “everything”. Actually they’re not, when our immigration system is as backed up as it is, especially after the pandemic — there are millions of cases on the desk of USCIS right now, and people are waiting about 4-5 years to get a court date after getting past the initial application. So all this talk of “it’s so easy” is honestly ridiculous like just say you don’t know anything about how the process actually works

Not having proper documentation is a civil offense, which ISN’T punishable by jail time in most cases. It takes 10 seconds to fact check yourself. Also “They could have obtained citizenship but they chose not to” it takes YEARS to get immigration applications submitted and approved which isn’t an option for many people especially those who come due to dire circumstances in their home country. Find some humanity and I don’t know a sense of awareness
