What’s the appropriate time into a relationship to have sex? I’m not sure, first relationship and I’m still trying to understand what I’m comfortable with and I don’t want to go too slow but not too fast.

I really think it’s a personal preference, communication is the most crucial aspect of a relationship in general but with sexual relations especially. You need to be 100% certain that if things get too intense for you, you can say so and things will stop, you guys talk about it and go from there Yk? It’s normal to be nervous. And it’s normal to take things slow. It’s important you’re both comfortable and if that means slowing down, slow down. If it means speeding you, speed up.

You can test the waters with foreplay and stuff but I’d wait a few weeks to have sex just to make sure he’s serious and also that you actually like him and it’s not just the sex (if it ends up being good)

Yes I really don’t want to end up hurt. I voiced to him my fears and concerns and he’s very sweet and understands wanting to go slow, but at the same time he said he wants to and I don’t want to make him wait forever because I’m scared. So I was curious on what a good balance would be that more experienced people would know.

Thank you for your input. We’ve had great communication so far and I’ve voiced to him my concerns and fears about it. But at the same time like you said I know at some point I’m just scared and I don’t want to make him wait forever because I know I want to do it. Again thank you for the reply.

Don’t let that pressure consume you though, you guys are partners in this, it’s normal and valid to be scared. He should be happy to wait. I understand the fear and anticipation of it, and getting in your own head about it. It maybe a ripping the bandaid off situation as well yk? But again, you still need to be ready to rip the bandaid off
