telling someone with binge eating disorder to “just stop eating” is the same exact thing as telling an anorexic person to “just eat”. but binge eating is often more shamed and given less sympathy.

there’s so many better ways to support someone with bed too and it’s so vital to end shame because shame only fuels binges. bed isn’t just about amount of food, it’s about losing mindfulness and having shame and negative coping mechanisms and “just stop eating” will only perpetuate the cycle.
